When you work at Fidelity, you have a career that gives you purpose with a great compensation package, an inspiring environment, and an inclusive culture. Getting into financial services—whether you have experience or not—is easier than you think.
We’re looking for candidates with and without financial services experience. Fidelity will help you get licensed via the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, as well as the Series 7 and Series 63 tests. Here’s how we help you get licensed in 5 ways.
1. Fidelity Jobs Complement Your Existing Skillset
You might already have many in-demand skills we want and need, like customer service, problem-solving, active listening, empathy, and communication. Finance is based on trust, and trust is based on relationships. We need people who know how to use their emotional intelligence (EQ) as much as we need people with financial know-how.
We invest in and complement your existing skillset, giving you the financial knowledge you need to get licensed if your role requires it. “Our philosophy is that if you bring your EQ, which is the soft people skills, we will train you for the IQ, which is the knowledge needed to help customers,” said Rachelle, Team Leader, Client Services.
Helping our clients achieve their financial goals is about understanding them first as people so you can help them invest in ways that benefit them.
2. Fidelity Gives You Comprehensive Training to Pass Your SIE Exam and Earn Series 7 and 63 Licensing
At the start of your training, you shadow a customer service representative to get hands-on experience with real Fidelity clients. You’ll hear how they express real concerns and how our associates make a positive difference in their lives. This also gives you the chance to engage with other associates and see our culture up close.
After the immersion program, you’ll move into self-paced, on-demand virtual learning. You’ll take video courses and practice exams to learn everything you need to know to get licensed.
These courses are customizable and personalized so you can learn at a pace that works best for you remotely. If you live near a Fidelity location, you can choose to work in person or have a hybrid schedule. “One thing I found pleasantly surprising was the breadth and variety of training resources to accommodate all types of learners. They have implemented systems and resources to reach every associate,” said Bizzy, Workplace Planning Consultant.
Virtual workshops and a dedicated support team help you level up your knowledge so you feel confident and that your skills have been validated. “Fidelity invests so much time into the training and development of the people that they hire,” said Rachelle.
3. Fidelity Provides Financial Support to Help You Get Your SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 Licenses
Our comprehensive financial services licensing training is fully funded. We give you time to learn on the job and pay for your exams. For most associates, the training lasts about 16 weeks.
4. Fidelity Gives You Ongoing Support in Your Licensing Journey—Before, During, and After Your Exams
When you work with Fidelity, you never go it alone. During your training, you’ll have a dedicated team leader and licensing lead who will help guide you through the process. Workshops give you a chance to ask questions of leaders and connect with your peers. “There are so many people and resources available to help you along the path—it’s not nearly as scary as it seems!” said Kathryn, Customer Relationship Advocate.
Our support continues after you’ve gotten licensed and are working one-on-one with clients. You will stay in touch with your training leaders, and we have an internal help desk to help while you’re on the phone with clients. “Once you are finished with your licensing, you maintain excellent relationships with these individuals as you work with them to learn how to flourish on the phones, helping to support customers to reach their financial goals,” said Elyse, Customer Relationship Associate.
5. Fidelity Helps You Get Licensed and Empower Your Future
We believe in investing in our associates’ professional development, wherever their career path leads them. We want our associates to have opportunities to explore new roles and transition their talents within the company. “My journey at Fidelity has been marked by continuous growth, valuable experiences, and impactful contributions,” said Caroline, Fidelity Intern, who transitioned to a full-time role.
Our career-coaching services help you learn which skills you need to make it to the next level in your role or what you need to do to transition to another role or department. We help you find the courses you need to achieve your goals. “With Fidelity’s support, I’m on a path to do whatever I want to do—the choices are endless!” said Thanh, Marketing.
We also have a robust culture based on coaching, mentorship, and advocacy. Coaching is about giving you skill-specific feedback. Mentorship is an ongoing relationship with a role model. “Fidelity is a big company, and it can be a lot to navigate at first. Having the right mentorship for where you are in your career is important,” Tony, Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, said.
